Supervisions & Appraisals
Supervisions and appraisals are how we make sure you are supported, developed, and heard. They are not about catching you out — they are about helping you do your best work and building your career.
Formal Supervisions
You will receive at least one formal supervision per quarter. These are private, scheduled conversations with your manager covering your workload, wellbeing, development, and any concerns. One supervision per year may count as your annual appraisal.
Observed Practice
A Care Associate or Clinical Nurse will periodically observe you working with a client. This is about constructive feedback, not inspection. It helps us ensure care standards are consistently met and gives you the chance to receive direct, practical guidance on your technique and approach.
Annual Appraisal
- A structured review of your performance over the past year
- Discussion of your goals and aspirations for the year ahead
- Identification of training and development opportunities
- Review of any challenges and how to address them
- A written summary provided to you for your records
When Is My Next Supervision?
Supervisions are scheduled quarterly. If you are unsure when your next session is due, check with your manager. You can also request an additional supervision at any time if you need support or want to discuss something that cannot wait.
